Proposed Implementation Plan for CoDEW (Coalition for Digital Education Wellness)

01.
Form Multi-Sectoral Stakeholder Working Group
Multisectoral

Bring together key players from government, education, health, private tech companies, CSOs, youth networks, and parents to form a steering group that will guide CoDEW’s strategy, ensure inclusivity, and foster cross-sector collaboration.

Assessment
02.
Conduct Needs Assessment on Digital Wellness
Untitled design (1)

Carry out research and consultations in schools, homes, and workplaces to understand the current digital habits, risks (e.g., screen overuse, cyberbullying), digital literacy levels, and mental health challenges. This will inform tailored interventions and identify key gaps.

For young changemakers and students passionate about digital rights, mental wellness, and inclusive innovation. Youth Ambassadors benefit from leadership training, mentorship opportunities, and participation in national and community-based digital wellness activities. They are given the platform to launch school and community campaigns, participate in innovation labs, and represent youth voices in forums and panel discussions. Selected ambassadors can lead localized digital detox or mental health programs and receive mini-grants to support these initiatives. Being part of the youth network unlocks exclusive speaking engagements, visibility across CoDEW platforms, and recommendation letters for career or academic advancement.

For schools, universities, hospitals, companies, media houses, county governments, and civil society organizations. Institutional members receive full access to digital wellness integration support tailored to their settings—such as schools receiving age-appropriate screen-time curricula, workplaces accessing digital detox policies and training, or clinics integrating digital mental health tools. Institutions are offered co-branded campaigns, access to impact data for internal reporting, and priority inclusion in research and innovation pilots. They also benefit from being featured as a "Digital Wellness Champion Institution," increasing their visibility among donors, government agencies, and strategic partners. This membership supports teacher training, wellness screening tools, and engagement with parents or employees on responsible digital behaviors.

Strategic partners benefit from high-visibility collaborations on national campaigns, co-hosted summits, research sponsorships, and the opportunity to shape inclusive digital wellness policy and innovation. They receive detailed quarterly reports highlighting impact, data insights, and opportunities for CSR alignment. Partners can sponsor specific projects such as the Mind Ball Challenge, Youth Innovation Labs, or Digital Wellness Weeks in schools. They are invited to policy roundtables, stakeholder consultations, and given visibility in CoDEW’s national and regional advocacy efforts. Additionally, they gain early access to evidence-based research findings and pilot programs that can inform their own strategy, while building goodwill and social impact.

For global allies, researchers, and organizations committed to advancing digital wellness in Africa and beyond. International affiliates benefit from cross-border collaboration opportunities, invitations to contribute to global research, joint campaigns, and shared learning through digital health and education exchanges. Affiliates may co-author publications, sponsor regional innovation labs, or fund special programs in underserved communities.
